Meet Gordon, probably the world’s first robot controlled exclusively by a brain. (brain’s tissue to be exact) It is such an innovation and it’s a big step closer where one day human can control a computer or any machine just by thinking about it. Tests were held by connecting a rat’s neurons which sends signals to the robot to deliver its command. Observing how the nerve cells cohere into a network as they fire off electrical impulses.

“It’s quite funny — you get differences between the brains,” said Warwick, a professor at the University of Reading and one of the robot’s principle architects. “This one is a bit boisterous and active, while we know another is not going to do what we want it to.”

There were all kinds of robots in the CES - from Rovio - the webcam robot to toy robots, but this robot is not a regular robot where it’s programmed to do certain tasks, his name is Sunny and you can really talk with him! In the video, you can see his performance in answering the questions and no doubt it’s such as humorous robot… it’s amazing. (I know there were some vague answers)

The Rovio is a wireless, browser-controlled roaming robot. So, you can watch video from the Web cam and control the Rovio device using a computer or even a PDA. Instantly we were skeptical, because we couldn’t imagine sending precise movement controls to an R/C car from our mobile device, but Wowwee has come up with an even more ingenious, and surprising solution for this problem.
