Best iPhone Clone - Does not look fake to me (Video)
This iPhone clone is pretty damn good - so good that I almost bought one myself. (Just to try it out) I added to my shopping cart but didn’t buy it eventually, because I like genuine stuff :)

Flash on iPhone

Flash on iPhoneFor all those iPhone owners, we know you’ve been waiting for the Flash support in iPhone. The good news is that you don’t have to wait much longer! We’ve just got word from a reliable source that Flash support is on its way to the iPhone, and it should be coming very, very soon. We are guessing that it would be pretty convenient for Flash support to be introduced alongside the iPhone SDK.

Even Gogole’s YouTube has to convert some of their videos to H.264 in order to be seen on an iPhone. We’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest status.

iPhone Now in 2nd place in US, 3rd place Worldwide

iphone_home.gifCanalys shows that Apple’s iPhone is now second place just following RIM (Blackberry) in the US smartphone market. In the 4th quarter of 2007, the iPhone surged to a 28% share of the US converged device market behind RIM’s 41%. This is not surprising because the demand for smartphones is increasing. Phones are not just to make calls anymore, we want it to be able to take pictures, web surfing, read/send emails, play games, and more.

I have been looking for a smartphone and HTC Touch Dual or iPhone seems attractive. Just a wild guess, I think iPhone will advance to 1st or 2nd internationally in the near future when it becomes more available and easier to unlock except the Turbo SIM method. In Canada, you can get an iPhone for ~$790 - only some stores have them in stock with limited quantities.

iPhone SIM Card unlocks your iPhone?

iPhone SIM Card unlocks your iPhone?

With 250,000 unlocked iPhones floating around the market, it’s about time to unlock the iPhone in a new way! I’ve seen most iPhone being unlocked with software hack, but swongled site has reported that iPhone Unlock SIM Card can do the work! First, attach to your SIM card to unlock iPhone then unlocking iPhone v.1.1.2 firmwares. Then I guess you insert your own SIM card back and it is unlocked? I’m skeptical about this $30 SIM card’s ability because it’s just too easy. But if any of you have experience with this method or any other unlock ways, please share your thoughts.

Updated on 01/27/2008
An iPhone user emailed me saying the Turbo SIM actually using a fraction of a real AT&T chip because iPhone only accept AT&T as its official service provider. The SIM card fools the phone to think it’s AT&T. Old trick but it works. He also said the hacked iPhone price dropped to $4500HKD from $5900HKD in Hong Kong.

MacWorld: MacBook Air - World’s thinnest notebook?

Steve Jobs introduced the MacBook Air, a computer that they claimed to be the world’s thinnest notebook. How thin? Small enough to fit inside an mailing envelope.
It’s priced starting at $1,799 and will be available within two weeks.
White and Silver are Apple’s icon - you can expect MacBook Air to be either or combination of those colors :-)It features a 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display that has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. The backlight have the “instant on” feature where it lights up the moment you turn it on! It weighs about 3 pounds, and sports a thickness of 0.16-0.76 inches. It’s 12.8 inches wide and 8.95 inches deep. Now that’s slim!

The keyboard is backlit, similar to MacBook Pros, and has an ambient light sensor that adjusts brightness automatically. The trackpad is also capable of recognizing multi-touch gestures, similar to using an iPhone or iPod touch. The MacBook Air equipped with a 1.8-inch hard disk drive with 80GB of storage capacity standard. A 64GB solid-state disk (SSD) drive optionally. Yes, there’s a webcam.

The laptop is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo NEW chip running at 1.6GHz - according to Apple’s CEO (Steve Jobs) that it’s 60 percent smaller than others, designed for this product!!! With only 0.16-0.76 inches thick, we know everything will be external such as external optical drive (SuperDrive will cost $99) Apple estimates that with wireless networking turned on, the MacBook Air can get about 5 hours of battery life. Screen is mercury-free display with arsenic-free glass!

iPhone-like GPS from Goodyear

iPhone-like GPS from Goodyear

Goodyear is more commonly associated with making tires. However, Goodyear is now making GPS devices but their design is very similar to iPhone? The GPS devices have a new feature which allows them to be remote controlled for it’s hands free system. The remote control can be attached to a visor or anywhere with in reach. It also uses Bluetooth to connect to your phone to make use of hands free calling. Information from MSN Direct can also be received as well as local prices for fuel, weather and movie times.

Rumor: iPhone 2 at MacWorld

Rumor: iPhone 2 at MacWorld

According to smartoffice, Apple is planning an iPhone 2 for MacWorld in San Francisco. It is said that Apple is already talking to manufacturers and contractors about major hardware and software changes/upgrades aimed at non-US markets.

More rumors:

  • The iPhone 2 will be equipped with GPS since many smart cellphones have it (i.e. Nokia N95)
  • Wireless Email sync would be very nice, but I’m doubt Apple will support Exchange and BlackBerry. However, iPhone is not really a business type of phone to me.

New LG KU990 - iPhone competitor? Verdict: NO

New LG KU990 - iPhone competitor?

To me, this LG KU990 gave me an iPhone feel, it terms of the phone or the box. However, in terms of features, LG KU990 have a gap compared to iPhone. It lacks of Wi-Fi and the touchscreen wasn’t impressive either… In fact, you need to use a stylus in order to get the Graffiti-like writing recognition to work. :(

Another problem with the phone was the speed. Really slow and stuttering when you compare it to the smoothness iPhone user interface. No wonder iPhone became the greatest product in 2007 where the year hasn’t finished yet.

New 3G iPhone coming in 2008

AT&T has confirmed that a 3G version of the Apple iPhone will be hitting stores in 2008, but with no set month for release as of yet.

In the past, Jobs has announced that 3G was “highly sought-after” but that the iPhone would not have it included until the battery life was not as severely affected. “So as you know, the handset battery life used to be 5-6 hours for GSM,” Jobs explained. “but when we got to 3G they got cut in half. Most 3G phones have battery lives of 2-3 hours [of talk time].” Jobs has said he would like to have a minimum of five hours of 3G before releasing an iPhone with the technology.
