Dell’s smartphone releasing in Feb. 09 to face iPhone and Blackberry

Dell Computer, a Round Rock, Texas based computer maker, is looking to enter the smartphone market and is currently toying with phones based on Google’s Android and Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating systems, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The Journal says that of the two models under development, one is a touchscreen phone, while another phone will have a slider that hides beneath the screen. So I assume one targets iPhone and the other targets Blackberry?

Dell bought Zing with grand ambitions that are still unrealized and Dell have been discountinued with the Axim PDA line. Some are speculating that the new Dell phone(s) will be called the MePhones. Please change the name! I rather call it xPhone or MyPhone. Can you think of a name? Leave a feedback if you do ;)

iPhone Software Update May Fix Frustrating Bugs

iPhone has been the #1 topic since its launched on July 11, 2008. However, many owners have had nothing but headaches with their new 3G iPhones with iPhone 2.0 software which was released earlier this month. CEO Steve Jobs said it would provide the best user experience and the most advanced software platform for a mobile device. However, glitches in the software are leaving users frustrated with a laundry list of complaints.

Dior iPhone case more expensive than the phone

Dior iPhone case more expensive than the phoneThe Dior case is simple, but with the calf leather it is definitely a luxury item.  However, I have a small problem with paying more for the case than I paid for the gadget.

If you are itching for the absolute perfect case to compliment your iPhone though, then this is definitely the way to go.  The case is being sold for $450.

Apple 3G iPhone starts $199 8G, $299 16G

Apple 3G iPhone starts $199 8G, $299 16G

As you might have seen in the Apple’s big announcement, the 3G iPhone will be released on July 11! This includes Canada, and the price for an 8GB 3G iPhone will be a scant $199, while the 16GB version will only set you back $299! This is only partially surprising: first, the hardware itself is cheaper than the one in the original iPhone. Apple also had the time to cost-reduce its hardware platform and negotiate better prices overall.

Finally, the real money that Apple will make is in the wireless subscriptions, not the hardware itself. Apple wants to compete with Blackberry and to increase the market share! Overall, I think this is a good move - not only benefit us as consumers but it benefits the 3rd party software developers, and phone service carriers.

iDial iPhone Retro

iDial iPhone Retro

That’s the advantage of the iPhone’s full touch screen display, with the iDial iPhone Retro application which allows you to dial phone numbers via a virtual rotary dial. Needless to say this is much slower than just punching some numbers, but at least it helps get your retro kicks in. You can download the application from http://rep.sosiphone.com

Rumor: 3G iPhone May Include QWERTY Keyboard

Rumor: 3G iPhone May Include QWERTY Keyboard

Adding 3G on the iPhone may just be the ticket to make the Apple device a genuine hit in Europe. But here’s another rumor that suggests Apple would do more than just add 3G on iPhone 2.0. Whether the QWERTY iPhone is just one model of an entire line of iPhones Apple has been rumored to be preparing we’re nevertheless astounded that Apple may finally succumb to the tactile temptation. 3G iPhone is coming!

3G iPhone is coming!

3G phones are the future, but apparently iPhone, HTC Touch and other popular cellphones are NOT 3G phones. Apple’s iPhone will be launching its 3G version in months! AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega mentioned earlier in the event that he expected all of their smart integrated devices to be 3G in the next couple months - which includes iPhone.

Microsoft Office on the Apple iPhone?

Microsoft Office on the Apple iPhone

This news comes from the controversial Chinese site CNMO.com. As Microsoft makes more profit on Office than it does on its current Vista OS, they want to make the software widely available in many different platform. MacBooks run Microsoft Office and Apple does  not really have a product that can compete with Office. But this remain unofficial as I’d like to hear from Apple and Microsoft.
