Google isn’t Perfect. Google holes Revealed

Google isn’t Perfect. Google holes Revealed

So far all the previous Google posts were positive such as the Gmail 6GB Storage and Google’s Android for mobile OS. However, this is negative! The two Google-related hacks which surfaced recently causes IT managers to look at employee Web surfing as a security hazard rather than a time waster.

Last month Google Toolbar’s security holes could let the hacker install malicious software on the system through the vulnerability of the “add new buttons” application embedded in the Google toolbar. Google later confirmed it was working to fix the problem.

Also last month, Google’s Orkut social networking service was hit by a worm. Read the rest of this entry »

Gmail Storage Is Now 6 Gigabytes

Gmail Storage Is Now 6 GigabytesParis Lemon notices that Gmail has not only gotten festive with funny notes, they’ve also accelerated their secret Gmail storage calculating algorithm so that every Gmail user now has 6 GB of storage - just in time for Christmas. According to statistics, there are way more email users using Yahoo! Mail during Christmas in 2007 than Gmail. Google is a late comer to Free Internet Email Service compared to MSN or Yahoo! (Gmail launched in April 2004) but they sure want to win in every aspect of the Internet war, so far they dominated tons of web services and it’s progressing. Recently, as you read up about the Android, Google is challenging Microsoft’s Windows Mobile Operating System, in an attempt to take a piece of pie from the mobile sector.

Android Killer? Microsoft’s next version of Windows Mobile

Android Killer? Microsoft’s next version of Windows MobileSo we can’t really deliver into a lot of specifics, but today Microsoft showed off the next version of Windows Mobile at their annual Mobius conference. Nope, it’s not Windows Mobile 7 / Photon, but what we saw “is an update, not an upgrade”, was running on current hardware, and is due to manufacturers Q108. Our first impressions: very slick, and has a lot of features that just about any WM6 user will agree is way overdue. In other words, we’re expecting users will be stoked — no doubt about it. Expect specific details on features and the like in the near future, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear more about it CES.

We have answers to some of these questions!

  2. So what is this Android?
  3. When will I be able to buy a Google-powered phone?
  4. How will Android phones differ from today’s coolest smart phones?
  5. Why is a Google mobile platform any better than an existing mobile OS from Palm or Microsoft?
