Obama is a geek with iPod (Picture)

President Elect Barack Obama loves electronic gadgets, the photo was taken recently and it showed he is using iPod Nano, not Zune. Earlier people saw him using a Zune at a gym and it broke Apple’s heart because he uses Mac computer! Zune is definitely not fully compatible with Macbook.

Obama likes his Blackberry device but I don’t think he is allowed to use it when he becomes a president because of some presidential and security restrictions.

Windows Vista gets faster - Service Pack 2

Thanks to the upcoming Service Pack 2 for Vista, Microsoft’s much maligned operating system gets a much needed performance boost. Good news, Vista users! You might not need to upgrade your PC to 4GB of RAM to run Vista smoothly. Now, preliminary testing shows that Vista is actually getting faster, managing resources better and less issues.

There are also some friendly updates that you’ll see in SP2, including a revised Bluetooth stack with support for the new 2.1 standard and tweaks its Wi-Fi stack that results in better “resume response times” for mobile users. Also it supports the recording to Blu-ray media, as well as some reliability and performance enhancements for DirectX and high-definition video playback.

Dell charges $150 more for Windows XP

If you’re buying a new computer (laptop or desktop), would you rather have Windows Vista or Windows XP pre-installed? I know that my office is using XP and will be using it until WIndows 7 releases. Michael Dell sees this as a golden opportunity to make extra cash by increasing the additional price for new systems with Windows XP, and now it’s up to a whopping $150. This $150 is what you pay for after paying for the copy of Vista that you don’t want. Actually, you are paying both versions.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin accept a $100,000 check from Sun Microsystems co-founder Andy Bechtolsheim and incorporate Google Inc. on Sept. 7. The Stanford University graduate students work from a suburban garage (pictured below) in Menlo Park, Calif., for six months. Now Google reigns as the World’s most powerful 10-year-old company.

Did you know?

Google hosted its first data center in a rented 7′ x 8′ room.

Asus Eee Box that looks like Wii?

Asus Eee Box that looks like Wii?At first, I thought this external storage device is a new Wii, it stands at 30 degree upright too.

Just like the Asus Eee PC when it was first released, the first batch of the Asus Eee Box in Taiwan has sold out since the July 30th launch date. 1,000 units gone in approximately 5 days. I like the fact that Asus makes affordable, entry level PCs even cheaper for the masses - surely developing countries with not much purchasing power will settle for the Asus brand instead of something more established and expensive. Despite cheap price tag, Asus offers reliable products and technical support via the 1-800 number for customers outside Taiwan. The Asus Eee Box is a cool gadget for your small HD Asus Eee laptop.

Real Wall-E on TV (Video)

Real Wall-E on TV (Video)

Last weekend I went to watch Wall-E after I read many positive reviews and excellent feedback from others. I have to admit that it was very interesting, I really enjoy the movie! In fact, I’m planning to buy its DVD when it comes out. The main topic is about two robots falling in love which is definitely new and initially I thought it’s weird that there’s no dialog for the first 30 minutes of the show! BUT… trust me, go watch it and you will like it. I gave 5 stars out of 5! Read the rest of this entry »

Apple iTunes hits 5 Billion Songs Sales Record

Have you ever bought songs from iTunes? Once in a while I would buy song(s) from iTunes because they have the largest collection of songs online. Some songs I can find it there, where I can’t find it elsewhere.

Apple iTunes hits 5 Billion Songs Sales Record

5 Billion songs sales milestone is quite fast, just four months after it surpassed the 4 billion songs in terms of sales. This is definitely an outstanding achievement. Good job Steve Jobs! Artists who want to make money is to hop onto the digital virtual bandwagon instead of relying on the traditional record sales at stores. The next update will be the 10 Billion mark, which I think it would not be a long wait.
