World of Warcraft crosses 10 million milestone. Wow!

World of Warcraft crosses 10 million milestone. Wow!

Blizzard Entertainment announced this week that the number of subscribers for World of Warcraft broke the 10 million mark. It is certainly the most popular RPG game and I had once been hooked with their games too! It’s very additive. Approx. 2.5 mil in North America and the rest mainly in Asia.

World of Warcraft is expected to unleash its 2nd expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King, end of this year.

PS3 plays DivX and WMV

PS3 plays DivX and WMVGood news for PS3 owners with the brand new 2.10 firmware!

This firmware magically makes DivX and WMV compatible for PS3, whether you play it from HDD or network (DLNA). However, DivX 3.11 are NOT supported, same goes for the DRM WMV, and files over 2GB. The Blu-Ray profile goes up to 1.1.

For Microsoft’s counter-attack, Xbox 360 allowed DivX and Avi recently too, through the latest Xbox LIVE dashboard update.

How to Score a Wii This Christmas

Everyone wants Wii to be their Christmas present but the supply just can’t fulfill the demand in 2007. Want to make one of those your own? Here’s our shopping advice.

How to Score a Wii This Christmas

Sunday: You Get Up Early

The best time for Wii hunting is early Sunday mornings, because that’s when retailers like Best Buy and Wal-Mart release their weekly advertisements. And if they advertise Wii in the flyer, they’ll hold some systems for the day the ad hits. The trick is to get your hands on the ads before Sunday morning, so you know where to line up. Abrams says users of his site post ads in the forums, so that might be an excellent place to start.

Go Crawling to eBay or Craigslis, may cost more though

There’s one place where you can buy a Wii any time, day or night, and have it guaranteed to be under the Christmas tree. Unfortunately for your wallet, that place is eBay. But currently well over 13,000 auctions post Wii consoles at the online auction house. Winners generally shell out about $400 each.

100 Reasons to Love the Nintendo Wii

100 Reasons to Love the Nintendo Wii

Personally I think 100 reasons is a little exaggerated. I actually read all and they have some good points especially the 52. Fat guys love it - this matches the post we did on Wii Fit Hopes for Super Sized American.

Here’s the Top 3:

  1. The name isn’t as bad as you think. Really. Well, it’ll grow on you.
  2. Innovative controls. The Wii-mote and Nunchuk that you use to play Wii games with make for a completely different kind of gaming. You wave, point, swipe and swing to play. It’s only as good as the games that make use of it though.
  3. No graphical willy-waving. It’s a fair cop: Wii isn’t as powerful as PS3 or Xbox 360. But that means developers could and should be focusing on gameplay. And as a bonus, it means we don’t have to read endless game reviews dribbling on about textures.

Iron Man Video Game Trailer. Plus Lego Iron Man

Iron Man Video GameWhen I was watching at the Iron Man Trailer, it looks so real that at one point I thought it’s a movie! Actually from Wikipedia, there is a Iron Man Movie in 2008 as well. I’m already getting antsy about it, but according to what I’ve seen we have a wait ahead of us. The game supposedly will be shipping June 24th, 2008. Do you think there will be more Marvel Comics characters put in the Big Screen?

Sega Updates Dreamcast Trademark

Sega Updates Dreamcast TrademarkFew days ago, we mentioned that Dreamcast II might rejoin the Game Console War. Rumors were running rampant this week when Sega update its trademark on its old school Dreamcast console name. A Goood sign! Many thought this was a sure sign that Sega (game pioneer) was getting a Dreamcast 2 ready to battle the other console giants.

The trademark covers a wide gamut of products from controllers to the game console itself.

Become a Jedi - the Wii Light Sword

Become a Jedi - the Wii Light Sword

If you have a Wii and you’re a Star Wars fan then this accessory is a must have addon. Play.com has a light sword attachment that sports both a “power up” and “power down” effects. The blue glow is created via 22 ultra-bright LEDs and uses 3 AA batteries. With $31 at Play.com and you can kill the Dark Vader (in the virtual world). Or if you’re Zelda fan, you can get the Wii Z Sword Remote.

My favourite is the Wii Zapper with Link’s Crossbow Training, tell us what’s your #1 Wii accessory?
