ASUS is the Most Hated Company In the PC Industry

Taiwan’s Asustek, better known as ASUS. It is one of the most interesting, innovative and fastest-growing companies in technology.

Why Microsoft, Amazon, HP and Dell hate ASUS?

ASUS is the creator of Eee PC Mini Laptop. It’s compact, flexible and the best part is the price - costs as little as $299. This attractive price tag is less than Apple’s 16GB iPod Touch, Amazon Kindle e-book reader and certainly less than any full-functional laptops in the market. (Read the high rating reviews)

The reason Microsoft hates ASUS couldn’t be more obvious. The Eee PC runs opened source Linux (Xandros running KDE) and uses a tabbed-based user interface developed by Asustek. It’s announced that ASUS will ship 3.8 million units in 2008. Equipped with all Anti-Microsoft software including Firefox and OpenOffice.

Apple and Dell hate Asustek because these companies have been planning for a while to introduce flash (solid-state) mini laptops. Also, I don’t think Dell, Apple or Fujitsu can beat the amazing price of $299.

But… Intel loves ASUS

Meanwhile, Intel loves Asustek. The ASUS Eee PC is powered by - you guessed it! -> an Intel processor, namely the 900 MHz Intel Celeron-M. In conclusion, if you’re thinking of buying a flexible, super cheap UMPC - ASUS Eee PC.
