External hard drive enclosures come in all sorts of varieties, but only if you need it to carry around often, you may want to consider this Japanese Co. Logitec (no, not Logitech) SATA-to-USB converter that employs a cartridge slot design. An semi-transparent case folds up to cover the drive, and there’s adequate back support so the drive won’t be easily knocked over. Installation is relatively simple as you don’t even need to power down the unit before inserting the SATA drive.

This product is similar to the USB 2.0 to IDE/SATA adapter kit ($25) which I find it’s worth every penny! This device is excellent, it connects to 3.5 inch IDE and SATA, 2.5 inch SATA and even to a old 5.25 inch. If you have experienced other similar product like this, comment on it!
